Style Inspiration: In The Mood For Love

In The Mood For Love (2000) has to  be one of my favourite films, it's a beautifully photographed love story set in Hong Kong in 1962. Mrs Chan (Maggie Cheung) and her husband rent a room in the same building as Chow Mo-Wan (Tony Leung) and his wife. After a while, and with their partners seemingly always away on business, Mr Chow and Mrs Chan become friends, their hesitant, considerate relationship making their nights alone more bearable. The film is directed by Wong Kar-Wai, with costume design by William Chang. Wong Kar-Wai took 15 months to shoot the film and was apparently very exacting about locations, re-shooting repeatedly to get the precise effect that he wanted. His hard work paid off and the result is a truly beautiful and moving film. I also absolutely adored the costume and set design, Mrs Chan has a wardrobe full of beautiful dresses.

If you get the chance you should definitely check it out (the film is on youtube if you do a quick search).
