What I Wore: A Curtain Dress and Orla Kiely

Happy Friday lovelies! I realised the other day that I haven't done an outfit post in a while, it's hard to find the time to take decent pictures at the moment but hopefully that should all change soon.

This picture was taken a couple of Saturday's ago. I had just had new carpet fitted (which oddly looks purple in these pictures but is in fact grey) and on the same day my Orla Kiely for Clarks shoes arrived so instead of moving stuff back into my room I was prancing around in my new shoes instead!  (I'm actually meant to be resting my knee - ssh don't tell my doctor!)

The Orla Kiely shoes are impossibly high, but because they're a platform they're really comfy and easy to walk in. The daisies on them really remind me of Mary Quant.

I hope you all have lovely weekends, I've just looked at the weather report and have decided I'm going to hibernate as gale force winds are expected in London. I'll see you in the Spring! ;)

  2. Hello, dear Sarah! Did you injure your knee whilst dancing? I wish you a speedy and complete recovery. I am also sorry to hear about those gales. Seems England had fine weather much of last year but this year is starting out rather poorly, isn't it?

As for your OOTD, you look absolutely beautiful! It's hard to believe that your grey carpet looks so purple. Please don't tell me the wall is canary yellow! (LOL) Again, you look fabulous in everything including those groovy platform shoes and I love your artsy, "poetry in motion" pose.

Good night and have a splendid weekend, dear friend Sarah!

    1. I'm not sure how I injured it Shady, most probably it was whilst dancing.

Ha, no the wall is definitely orange. I think the carpet has a bit of a purple tone to it which is why it looks like that in the photo. The picture was taken on my sisters phone though so the quality might have something to do with it!

  5. You look so fab and like such a 60's doll, Sarah! Receiving those gorgeous shoes in the mail, I would be dancing and prancing around the room in them too rather than moving everything back in straight away! The daisies on Orla Kiely's range for Clarks remind me of the Mary Quant daisy too. I hope your knee recovers soon!

    1. Thank you :) I'm pretty bad at resting, I'm used to the pain now so I've just been going around like normal which probably isn't the best thing to be doing!

Ooh how exciting, I bet you can't wait for them to arrive!

  8. Fab outfit! I bought the same shoes, and have also been prancing around the house in them until I find the right occasion to wear them.

  9. Oooohh, I've been spotting Orla's fab 60s inspired footwear on wish lists and Pinterest boards all over the web, but this is the first time I've seen them in action on a fellow blogger. They're even more swoon worthy and amazing in 3D (well, as 3D as a photo can be, I mean). Fabulous dress to match with them - you look gorgeous, dear gal!

Big hugs & tons of joyful Valentine's Day wishes,
    ♥ Jessica
