Dedicated Follower of Fashion

For all of my UK readers, BBC 4 is currently showing a great series called Britain on Film. Throughout the 1960s short, quirky documentaries that examined all aspects of life in Britain were produced by the Rank Organisation (Look at Life). Tuesday's episode focused on the developments in the fashion industry in the 1960s and is definitely worth a watch - I wanted to jump through the tv and join in on all the fun!

The episode is available on iplayer for the next five days.

  1. Oh I hope the ABC picks up this one! We normally get things a few months after the original air date from the BBC.
It looks rather lovely from this image!

    1. You can often find clips of the Look at Life series on youtube, I hope you get to see it in full though it really is great. I love seeing what everyday people wore in the 60s.

    1. My parents said the same thing when they saw me watching them! I just love them, I like watching old episodes of Top of Pops as well to see what people are wearing in the audience x

  3. Thank you for the link! I watched one episode that was focused on hairstyles and fur. It briefly went on to Mary Quant and mini-skirts. I can't wait to see more! xxx

  4. Hi, Sarah! I haven't been ignoring you, dear friend, just taking a brief break from blogging for reasons you already know. I sincerely want to thank you for the kind and comforting words you wrote on my blog regarding my loss. I just returned from a three day trip which I desperately needed to clear my head.

Thank you for posting this program note. I get BBC programming on my cable system here in Florida and Mrs. Shady and I love all things British. I intend to tell her about this documentary series and hopefully we can watch it soon.

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend, dear Sarah, and once again I thank you for thinking about me in my darkest hours.
